Every learner has a story.

When David was offered a job interview over Zoom, he turned it down. He wasn’t confident using technology, and that uncertainty had become a barrier to employment.

David began working with an LVK volunteer tutor to strengthen his reading and math skills. His tutor soon recognized that learning to use technology was just as important to David’s goals. Through LVK’s Technology Access Program, David and his tutor received tablets and began meeting remotely. David learned to navigate technology with greater confidence and connect with his tutor when he needed support.

The result? David found employment and, at the time his story was first shared, had been working for nearly a year—the longest he had ever held a job.

Literacy is about more than reading. It’s about having the skills and confidence to pursue your goals.
